Hello, friend! One last MW Monthly for the year, this time covering November 2025. This one is quite brief, covering the following:
- Oath Keepers reboot! (??? idk)
- Patriot Movement guys running for office (again)
If you’d like to read the last BiMonthly, which covers September and October of this year, it’s available here:
ALSO: stay tuned next week for a Yearly post! Last year’s round-up is here:
Oath Keepers Reboot Gets a Strong ‘Meh’
The most important news item for November 2025 is definitely Stewart Rhodes’ announcement that he is rebooting the Oath Keepers, which doesn’t mean that it’s huge news; it just means that militia updates have been slow this past month. On November 9, Rhodes went on the Gateway Pundit video podcast to make the announcement, as reported by Media Matters for America. The reboot comes with an intent to start collecting money (checks made out to Rhodes personally, sent to a UPS box in Melissa, Texas), but has no indication of a real command structure. As others have reported, other ‘former’ Oath Keepers haven’t had much enthusiasm towards the relaunch. He spent a LOT of time talking about the Insurrection Act, which doesn’t work like he thinks it does.
Researchers, journalists, and policymakers should be careful and critical when engaging those from within the militia movement who are willing to talk trash about Rhodes. It’s still too early to know where many of the pardon commutation recipients from the Oath Keepers (as quoted in the Wired article linked earlier) stand politically. Some of these figures may use criticism of Rhodes (as have the folks at the Yavapai County Preparedness Team) to present a more ‘moderate’ stance, which isn’t always earnest. Writers should be careful printing direct narrative from some of these folks, especially including those who were part of the “stack” formation at J6. People can change, but many of the quotes MW observes prove that these changes remain incomplete.
Militia Guys Keep Trying to Run for Office
On November 18, one of the men acquitted in the Whitmer kidnapping plot in 2020, William Null, filed his candidacy for Michigan governor. It’s a fairly crowded primary, so it’s unclear how far he’ll make it. Null announced his interest in running for this office at the annual “2A” rally in Lansing last fall (when he took the stage with his twin brother, Michael), meaning his candidacy confirmation isn’t a surprise. However, Null has enlisted as treasurer his co-defendant Eric Molitor, who was also acquitted.
Also in the electoral campaign world, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is launching a gubernatorial run in his state of New York. The Long Island politician has been in the news for the past few years for his attempts to set up a militia of “special deputies” in his county. Blakeman is a close Trump ally, but will be running against Elise Stefanik, another Trump favorite.
